I have been a student of voice over for more than 40 years. My training comes from listening to BBC Radio 4 broadcasts while growing up in England and throughout my adulthood here in America. 

The closest I can liken Radio 4 to in America is NPR, top quality and informative broadcasting, but BBC Radio 4 goes a few steps further into the cultural and investigative fields.

I immersed myself daily in plays, documentaries, narrations, programs like Women’s Hour, a brilliant daily hourly program dedicated to women’s issues, culturally, historically, politically  and internationally.

I listened to some of the most brilliant plays, classical and modern adaptation for radio, where some of our finest actors participate, from Sir John Gielgud, Helen Mirren, Bill Nighy to name a few. 

I'm currently listening to a wonderful adaptation of Dante's The Divine Comedy with John Hurt as the narrator. I listen to inspiring interviews such as Desert Island Discs, psychological and sci fi thrillers and various books and poetry.

Listening to the cadence of the narrators/actors, I grew to appreciate and learn what good quality narration and voice overs are. I understand the importance of diction from poetic, colloquial to slang and how natural emotions are reflected in each script through the voice.  

I listened for years while I worked on my illustration and design projects and my love for VO grew when finally I was given the opportunity to actually do voice over.

I work with virtual events agency L37 Creative, and I am currently narrating the first chapter of a fantasy Scifi from a local author. Now, I'm looking for even more challenging work.
